Headphones Radiotehnika TD01C

Continuing our journey with devices under the revived Radiotehnika brand, today we’re diving into a review of the Radiotehnika TD01C headphones. In a previous review, we tested the Radiotehnika S-20NA speakers and explored the brand’s history, and now it’s time to see what these headphones have to offer.

Before we get to the performance, it’s worth mentioning that the Radiotehnika TD01C is nearly identical to the GeWa HP nine-x, a well-known and well-performing model. This similarity isn’t just cosmetic; the technical specs and included accessories are almost the same. It’s likely they share the same OEM manufacturer, which is a logical explanation. Is this a bad thing? Not at all. The Radiotehnika headphones are reasonably priced, and unlike GeWa, they are widely available on leading marketplaces with proper warranties.

Packaging and Contents

The headphones come in a sleek black box with glossed logos and contrasting white text. It’s stylish and understated. Inside, they are packed in a sturdy hard case with a leather-like finish and a branded logo on top, complete with a carrying handle. The case’s zipper works smoothly, and the interior is lined with soft fabric. The headphones are held in place by an elastic band, while other accessories fit in a mesh pocket. The case is great, although the faux-leather exterior could wear down with heavy use, so be careful not to store it with sharp objects.

The package includes two audio cables, spare velour earpads, a 6.3 mm jack adapter, and a user manual in Russian. The cables are of excellent quality, featuring durable but flexible material that doesn’t tangle easily. One is 3 meters long, and the coiled one stretches from 1.5 to 4 meters. While a shorter straight cable would have been nice for portable use, the coiled option works well enough.

Design and Build

The Radiotehnika TD01C headphones have a classic “monitor” style with a minimalist, all-black design and a logo on the ear cups. The headband is padded with faux leather for comfort, and the adjustable mechanism is solid, with a metal-reinforced frame offering a smooth, secure fit. The ear cups swivel 90°, making them easy to wear around the neck. The ear cushions are spacious and comfortable, even for larger ears, with a soft foam filling that retains its shape well, ideal for long listening sessions.

Sound Quality

The Radiotehnika TD01C delivers balanced, clear sound with a well-represented low-end. The bass is deep but controlled, while the mids offer decent clarity, though they can feel slightly muffled at times. The highs are a bit restrained, lacking some brightness. These headphones are great for casual listening, offering a pleasant and immersive audio experience.

Conclusion

For their price, the Radiotehnika TD01C headphones are an excellent option, providing comfort and balanced sound. While the included velour earpads aren’t the best in terms of comfort or sound, the overall package—especially with the carrying case and solid bass response—makes these headphones a strong contender for everyday use.
